ToolHR self-assessment
Fifteen questions and a score per axis. You see where it breaks straight away.
A rate moves nobody. A dollar figure does. This calculator estimates the real cost of employee turnover by turning every departure into money. It accounts for the vacant seat, the time it takes the new person to get up to speed and the costs of hiring. Every amount is shown separately, so you can see the real impact on your business.

Count the empty weeks from the last day worked, not from the day you posted the job. For ramp-up, use the point where you would stop watching closely. You are the only person who can estimate that.
What turnover is costing you
Enter the salary for the role and how many people leave it each year.
The calculation stays careful. It counts lost output and the money you spent. Nothing else. It does not count the manager’s hours, the time spent in interviews, payroll contributions or the knowledge that walked out with the person. It also assumes the new person gets good bit by bit, at an even pace. So they deliver half their work over that period. The real figure is higher.
