How is an HR consultancy different from a recruiting agency?

A recruiting agency finds you someone. We do the opposite: we look at why the role keeps opening up every six months. Inlead RH doesn't place candidates and doesn't do headhunting. We build the diagnostic, the structure and the tools, then hand them over.

At what headcount do you need real HR structure?

It rarely comes down to a number. The real signal is when HR decisions are still made from memory: nobody's sure who approves what, two people in the same role sit on different pay scales, and hiring depends on who knows who. For most companies that lands somewhere around 50 to 80 employees. That's where we start, and we work up to roughly 500.

How does a mandate actually run?

A 30-minute call first, free, to check we're the right fit. Then the diagnostic happens on site: we meet your people, read your data, watch how the place actually runs. You get a written picture with priorities ranked, and we implement whatever you decide to keep.

What does a mandate cost?

We don't publish a rate card. A diagnostic for 60 employees and one for 400 aren't the same piece of work. After the first call you get a proposal with a fixed price and a written deliverable. No open-ended hourly rate, no surprise invoice.

What is a psychometric assessment and when is it worth using?

It's a validated instrument that measures stable traits: how someone communicates, how they handle conflict, what motivates them, how they manage. We use it when hiring into a key role, before promoting someone into management, or when a leadership team is stuck and can't name why. It's never the only input to a decision, and a badly interpreted assessment does more damage than none at all.

Do Quebec pay equity and Loi 27 apply to my company?

Pay equity applies to Quebec employers with 10 or more employees, with an initial exercise and then a maintenance audit every five years. Loi 27 modernized the occupational health and safety regime, and what it requires depends on your headcount and your sector's risk level. Can we hire you without an HR department?

Accepted Answer

That's a good share of the companies we work with. HR is often carried by whoever handles finance, or by the GM directly. We can act as shared-time HR long enough to build the structure, then train whoever takes it over. Staying isn't the goal.

Montreal, the South Shore and Montérégie for on-site mandates, because a diagnostic means being physically there. Elsewhere in Quebec we work remotely, with occasional visits when the mandate calls for it.
